Jimo has a long history.Early in the spring and Autumn and the Warring State Periods(700 B.C.-221 B.C.),Jimo was a famous commercial area in Qi State.Then it was set up as a country in Qin Dynasty and became the political,economic and cultural center of jiaodong region at the beginning of han Dynasty.Since Jimo city was relocated to the current site in Sui Dynasty,it has had a history of more than 1,400 years.
